Fortune Cookies

This was my fortune cookie the other night at dinner. After a lovely first day of holidays, I got this. Hmmm….not so good. Should I ignore it, or steel myself? Maybe I’ll do a little of both.

On the upside, this week I started really enjoying the book I’m working on. I had a fresh idea, something that ties everything together and gives everyone ramifications. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out, now that I’ve gone back to do some major revisions. And being on holidays, I got lots of work done. Yay! Lots of work! Honestly, some days I wish I could write full time, but most of the time, I understand that interaction with other people is what makes my writing better. If I was home all the time (and I would be…I’m such a homebody), I’d probably start writing in a make-believe language and think my plants were the funniest things ever! So, maybe it’s all good that I can “pretend” to be a writer on my holidays, and go back to the real world when Monday rolls around.

Just because I had lots of time to sit with my feet up this week doesn’t mean I forgot about all of my wonderful readers (Hi, Mom!). Here are a few fun links to check out before the weekend, and then get out there and have some fun!

♥   All right, I’ll admit I missed it. Again. I went out to view the Perseid Meteor Shower but it was cloudy, or I was too tired, or I forgot, or I didn’t have my contacts in. But these people saw it. Boy, did they!

♥  Fred Stobaugh’s song hits it big on iTunes. And the man is 96. Sweet, sweet story. it deserves another ♥.

♥  Pretty postcards and a new Etsy shop by one of the YA Buccaneers. Stay tuned for the shop opening in September. These are gorgeous!

♥  33 Unusual Tips to Being a Better Writer. I read this a few weeks ago, and must say he’s got the right idea. And remember, eat more fruit.

Have a wonderful weekend!
